New Chief Creative Officer for Republic

We believe that what you stand for is as important as what you sell. And, in today’s Audience Democracy the stories of the brands and businesses that are making a difference should be freed through meaningful and effective content.

Today, we are very pleased to welcome Bob Makinson to our team as Chief Creative Officer.

Makinson may be best known for his work on runway-ready seasonal campaigns with Holt Renfrew, his creative direction for Ace Bakery, including their first-ever broadcast campaign, and his work on Target Canada, including a content series and the launch of three Canadian private label brands. Makinson has also worked with well-known brands including BMO, Peller Estates, Sonnet Insurance, and Unilever.

He will lead our growing creative and content team, overseeing everything from creative strategy to content development and production, reinforcing our dedication to empathy-driven stories brought to life through meaningful content that engages with your audiences, wherever they are.

Makinson was most recently Creative Director at KBS and prior to that at Capital C Communications. His experience in producing compelling content was honed early in his career as Creative Director at Redwood Custom Communications, an international custom publication firm. In this role, he oversaw the creative direction and production of over 20 publications, direct mail and digital initiatives for clients as diverse as Kraft Foods, Glidden, General Motors, Home Depot, Scotts and the State of Illinois.

This exciting addition follows our announcement earlier this year about Michael Kolberg joining our team as Senior Content Creator, Producer and Editor. Kolberg will report to Makinson.
